Miranda Spring
Conference Director
Miranda is a fourth year psychology and brain science major. Through her own struggle with depression and seeing a lack of discussion around mental health in her family, she hopes to destigmatize the false stereotypes about mental health and provide a community for those in need. After speaking at the conference for the past three years, she is very excited to be leading the team this year and provide even greater resources and open conversations at this year's conference. She plans to pursue a graduate degree in the future in hopes of providing equal mental health resources and education to the general public.
Amanda Rojas
Workshops Director
Amanda is a fourth year Sociology and Communication double major with an Applied Psychology minor. She joined the UCSB Mental Health Conference team because she wanted to support the destigmatization of mental health discussions by helping create a safe space for individuals to learn about and share their personal experiences with mental health. Following graduation, she plans to get a Master's in Counseling Psychology and become a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist.
Deepthi
Parthasarathy
Marketing & Outreach Director
Deepthi is a third year Psychological and Brain Sciences major with a minor in Anthropology. She joined the Mental Health Conference team because she believes it is important to reduce the stigma surrounding mental health by making it easier for people to have open conversations about mental health and to find acceptance and sources of support in their community that will ensure they feel heard and understood.
Caroline Schmidhauser
Panels Director
Caroline is a 4th year Communication major with a double minor in Applied Psychology and Educational Studies. Caroline joined the planning committee because she is passionate about encouraging open and honest discussions surrounding mental health, exchanging helpful resources and ideas, and eliminating harmful assumptions and stereotypes surrounding mental illness. She is planning on pursuing a masters degree in Mental Health Counseling next year in the hopes of becoming a licensed professional clinical counselor.

Madison Hill
Madison is a third year Psychological and Brain Sciences major and is minoring in Educational Studies. She is extremely passionate about the destigmatization of mental health due to familial and personal experiences with different mental illnesses throughout her life. She joined the Mental Health Conference Team in order to be a more active participant in starting open conversations surrounding mental health on campus. She plans to pursue a career in school psychology following graduation.

Anna Juline
Anna is a third year double majoring in Sociology and Political Science. She is passionate about mental health because of her own experiences, but also because she believes we need to open a broader conversation surrounding mental health, and she knows that discussing difficult topics can lead to greater understanding and empathy.

Surya Santhanam
Surya is a third year Psychological and Brain Sciences major with an interest in ensuring that no one feels alone in their mental struggles. He believes that the Mental Health Conference is a way to bring a community that has long been stigmatized together.

Paige Belcher
Paige is a third year Psychological and Brain Sciences major with an Applied Psychology minor. Along with her own struggle with mental health, she is passionate about helping others find ways to overcome their mental illness. Part of why she was drawn to the Mental Health Conference was so she could create a safe space for people to share about their illness, and find ways to become stronger together. She is planning on getting her doctorate in Clinical Psychology following graduation.
Madeleine Tremblay
Panels Team Member
Madeleine is a 2nd year Global Studies and Chinese double major with a minor in Applied Psychology. Through various destigmatization efforts, she wishes to generate candid, well-informed conversations about mental health. Madeleine hopes to pursue mental health law to ensure that people with mental health conditions are guaranteed equitable opportunities.
Jenna Sanflippo
Workshops Team Member
Jenna is a 4th year Biopsychology major and part of the workshops team for the Mental Health Conference. She became passionate about mental health after seeing so many important people in her life struggle with mental health challenges. She joined the Mental Health Conference committee to help destigmatize mental health and support the UCSB community.
Shwena Dhar
Panels Team Member
Shwena is a fourth year Cell and Developmental Biology major. She has received support from many of the mental health services UCSB has to offer and would like to use the planning committee to help bring awareness to resources available to students. She is planning on pursuing a medical degree and hopes to help de-stigmatize mental health in the healthcare field.
Mattie Hovsepian
Workshops Team Member
Mathilde is a fourth year Psychological & Brain Sciences undergraduate student minoring in Applied Psychology. Destigmatizing mental health is of great importance to her due to her personal experience with mental health issues and the experiences of those close to her. She joined the Mental Health Conference Team in hopes of contributing to mental health awareness and because she believes in the importance of psychoeducation and hearing other people's stories to understand first hand what it is like to experience these types of issues. She plans to earn a doctorate in neuropsychology after completing her studies at UCSB.

She joined the team because she believes that it is important to provide a safe space for people to have open, honest conversations about mental health. She also wants to bring awareness to various mental health topics and resources in our community so that those who need support can find it.

Megan is a 2nd year Biological Sciences major. Megan joined the Mental Health Conference committee because she wanted to be a part of something larger than herself in order to reach and make a positive impact on as many lives as possible. She plans to pursue a career in Physical Therapy following graduation.
